Slipstream Leisure Services Ltd was founded by Phil Broadbent, former Chief Engineer of Alde International. With vast experience in the leisure industry, Phil is committed to delivering outstanding customer service and expert care for all leisure vehicles, including caravans, motorhomes, and boats.
Phil worked for Alde for nearly 10 years, first as an engineer quickly moving up to Chief Engineer/Service Manager. Working on all leisure vehicles, from UK manufactured to large European Liners. Phil also had the opportunity to travel to North America where he worked with Airstream, Tab and RoadTrek.
Training other engineers was a big part of the role. His motto: “How can I train other engineers if I don’t physically do it and become an expert?”
Before Alde, Phil had over 30 years of experience within either the motor trade or leisure industry. Working for Marquis Motorhomes, Alvechurch Boats, Motech, AutoXS, and various car garages. Phil was first trained in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer, moving on after that into the motor trade working up to an MOT tester.
He still has the Royal Navy’s attention to detail and the reluctance to accept anything but the best.
Personally, Phil has been caravanning and camping since a very young age. His passion for camping has never wavered, and he understands how important these trips are.
The very first caravan he serviced was a Carlight in 1988.
Phil has been into boats since the early 1990s, sailing many times around the Solent. Living in Northamptonshire, the only boating was on the canals, and he totally embraced this with many holidays on the cut. Eventually, he worked at Gayton Marina as Chief Engineer.
